October 7, 2005 -- cBrain has released an updated version of its composite application for message and document management compliance. An online demo is available for interested parties.

cBrain’s composite application securely stores your organization’s Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and e-mail documents in a central archive. It embeds each document with information about how that document connects to your business processes and other documents. You will never lose a document again. And you will have complete version control, access history, and easy recovery of documents and e-mails.

Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 specifies that issuers of annual reports are required to state and detail in their annual reports the scope and adequacy of their internal control structure and related procedures for financial reporting. This statement shall also assess the effectiveness of such internal controls and procedures. Sarbanes-Oxley section 802 imposes penalties -- fines and/or up to 20 years imprisonment for altering, destroying, mutilating, concealing, falsifying records, documents or tangible objects with the intent to obstruct, impede or influence a legal investigation.

Compliance management is driving improvements in data handling across the enterprise and will necessitates central archiving, journaling, access control and activity logging of your business documents and e-mails in the context of the business processes that created them.

Central archiving of documents and e-mails with full version control and access history is becoming an absolutely essential part of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and legal discovery.

However the kitchen sink approach to archiving will only make legal discovery of messages and documents of material significance very expensive and time consuming.

According to a recent survey conducted by www.compliancepipeline.com only 4 % of companies have a context-sensitive message compliance management system in place and only 13 % archive according to content (key words and phrases).

Our customers include Sonofon, Carlberg, Optimentor, FLS Industries, Clear Channel, PwC, HP, DAB, SEAS, DivasUncorked, Emperion and many other private and public organizations.
